Anna came here from Poland in 2007. She qualified as a translator, with formal certification, while working at WMO. At the same time she established a local Polish group and a Polish school, which still runs at the centre. Prior, to all this, she worked in Tesco.

She works as an Account Assistant for a local logistics company, where she uses her interpreting and translating skills and is still involved with the Polish community and school.

“I am very proud to be a part of such a great organisation, like WMO,” Anna says.

Richie Pitt is the Labour councillor for Pensby and Thingwall. He’s a business owner and father of three. He trained as a dancer at Wallasey School of Ballet and has a passion for the theatre and stage. He’s performed locally and abroad and views these times as the most exciting in his life.

At the age of 10 when his family settled on the Wirral, he felt welcomed and nurtured by local people. He’d spent his early life travelling across many countries as his father was in the armed forces and believes it was then that he realised just how amazing and diverse the world is. He thinks WMO is a fantastic organisation.

Amanda Onwuemene is the Green councillor for Birkenhead and Tranmere. She’s also the Party’s national spokesperson for policing and domestic safety and the chair of the Party’s Greens of Colour (which is expected to change its name to Global Majority Greens).

Amanda sits on the board of the Liverpool Combined Authority Race Equality Hub, The Association of Green Councillors and The Deyika Fund. She’s also a member of the Green Party’s Equality and Diversity 

Michael joined us as a trustee when he was an elected local councillor and stayed on after he quitted office because he believes in the work that WMO does for the whole Wirral community.

He runs his own business, is a governor at two Wirral schools and a lay minister for New Brighton parish. He’s been married for over 40 years and has two adult children and four grandchildren.

Stuart Kelly is a Liberal Democrat councillor for Oxton and is currently serving on the planning committee as the chairman.

He works as an assessor of apprentices and owns a small business. Stuart has been a longstanding WMO board member.
